1. Dedicate a minimum of 6 consecutive months of active volunteer service and a minimum of 100 hours, with 80% attendance to be in good standing.
2. Attend one shift per week for the same day, time, and length (usually three to four hours).
APPLICATION AND ONBOARDING PROCESS
1. If your application is under consideration, references are required to sign up for interview.2. Interviews are conducted online, via Microsoft Teams.
3. As a result of strong interest in our progam, interviews are competitive and are currently being scheduled approximately one month in advance. The onboarding process from interview to orientation takes an additional 4 to 6 weeks.
PROGRAM ACCEPTANCE
Upon acceptance into the program, volunteers are expected to complete the following:
1. Background Screening
2. Health Screening Requirements
3. Purchase a Sharp Volunteer branded uniform top (est. $35-$40).4. Attend a 1.5 - 2hour group orientation, typically hosted on Fridays.

Our volunteer opportunities include Nursing Units, Person-Centered Care activities, and office support tasks. The Sharp volunteer program does not offer shadowing with physicians or nurses. While you may express interest in a specific area, placement in that unit is not guaranteed. Volunteer Services reserves the right to assign volunteers to high-priority areas based on organizational needs. You retain the right to accept or decline any position offered.
