Dedicate a minimum of 6 consecutive months of active volunteer service and a minimum of 100 hours, with 80% attendance to be in good standing.
Attend one shift per week for the same day, time, and length (usually three to four hours).
*College Student Applicants: Please apply once your availability and academic schedule for the upcoming school semester is finalized (e.g., if applying during the spring, know your fall schedule. If applying during summer/fall, know your schedule winter/spring schedule.)
APPLICATION AND ONBOARDING PROCESS
If your application is under consideration, references are required to sign up for interview.Interviews are conducted online, via Microsoft Teams.
As a result of strong interest in our progam, interviews are competitive and are currently being scheduled approximately one month in advance. The onboarding process from interview to orientation takes an additional 4 to 6 weeks.

Upon acceptance into the program, volunteers are expected to complete the following:

Purchase a Sharp Volunteer branded uniform top (est. $35-$40).Attend a 1.5 - 2hour group orientation, typically hosted on Fridays.

Our volunteer opportunities include Nursing Units, Person-Centered Care activities, and office support tasks. The Sharp volunteer program does not offer shadowing with physicians or nurses. While you may express interest in a specific area, placement in that unit is not guaranteed. Volunteer Services reserves the right to assign volunteers to high-priority areas based on organizational needs. You retain the right to accept or decline any position offered.
